G’day Salers,
Hoping you’ve all had a fab Chrissy/Hannukah/Whatever-else-you’d-like-to-call-it December break.
Now we’ve become aware of a theory. Apparently around this time of year, and especially on Boxing Day most Aussie don’t handle ‘excitement’ very well - think cricket, food comas, hang overs, clearance sales. But we disagree.
So here’s something to excite you.
Captain of the Australian Wallabies Rugby Team, Rocky Elsom is officially on board as an Ambassador for the Garage Sale Trail!
Yes. It’s true. And we’ve got the pictures to prove it. We spent a gloriously sunny morning at Rocky’s Garage shooting a special little something (more details about that to come) and asked him some of the tough questions:
Q. What’s the best thing you’ve ever bought at a Garage Sale?
“I once picked-up a 1930s typewriter in mint condition, it runs as smoothly now as it ever did”
Q. What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever seen for sale at a garage sale?
“A guy trying to put a price tag on his girlfriend - which was strange as she was clearly out of his league in the first place”
Q. Whose garage would you most like to go to?
“George Bush Senior”
Q. What would be your dream garage sale find?
“Some kind of semi-reliable time machine”
Q. What’s the most treasured possession in your garage?
“If someone tried to low ball me on my SCUBA helmet I’d have to ask them to leave the garage”
Q. Who would be in your dream garage band?
“Obviously this is a touchy subject given the way the band ended, but I’d probably go with a quartet this time consisting of Stephen Moore, myself and any other two that were happy to stand way up the back of the stage”
Q. Whose second hand shoes would you like to walk in?
“Robert Wadlow”
Thanks Rocky! We really enjoyed hanging out at your yard and are super, super happy to have you as part of the Garage Sale Trail Team.
